Pistol 2

Peter Grubb Kentucky Pistol

This pistol is a recreation of the fine early pistol carried by Peter Grubb, an American Officer during the Revolutionary War. Years ago (back in the 1940's) we thought pistols with the British Lion butt cap were all English.

However, several pistols turned up in collections that had American gunsmith names on the barrel, proving that they were indeed American made. As it turns out, these pistols were manufactured while we were still a British colony. After the Revolutionary War ended, so did the use of the British Lion on the butt cap.

This particular piece has always been one of my favorites, and was in the collection of my dear friend, the late Sam Dyke.
